Food. That is the first thing you want to think about in Minecraft. To farm effectively, you have to be able to create a sustainable farm. This means a nearby infinite water source and something to grow. If you are near a village, then your sorted. There will be a farm with wheat, carrots and possibly potatoes and beetroot. If not, then you can gather what you need.
Wheat is easy, go round breaking grass, and sooner or later, you'll get some seeds. Then you just need to till some soil (near a water source if you want the crops to grow quicker) and plant the seeds.
Potatoes, carrots and beetroot are harder. If you want some of these, you'll have to ready your sword as the only way to acquire these is by slaying zombies! There is a 2.5% chance that a zombie will drop one of these.
To create a zenith farm, create a flowing water supply, then till the ground 4 blocks to the left and right of any water block. When you've done this, plant your crops in rows parallel to the flowing water.
